Improve the quality of life

Our incontinence products help improve the quality of life for people all over the world. When using ABENA's incontinence products, the user can continue their life as usual and feel comfortable, without having to worry about leakage.

The main materials in ABENA’s incontinence products include:

  • SAP (Super-Absorbent Polymers): Is another important material of the absorbent core. SAP absorbs and retains the liquid even under pressure and protects against odor. SAP can absorb 35-50 times its own weight depending on SAP type.
  • Fluff (cellulose/paper fibers, ECF fluff, FSCTM-certified): Forms the basis of the absorbent core. Fluff absorbs 10 times its own weight and disperses the liquid across the underpad.
  • PP nonwoven (polypropylene): Forms a breathable, woven-like material that is comfortable and soft to the skin. In production, hydrophilic NW is used for the topsheet and sublayer to instantly absorb and distribute liquid into the core, while hydrophobic (liquid repellent). NW is used for barriers to minimize risk of leakages.
  • Backsheet foil (PP and PE fibers): Provide leakage protection and ensures very high breathability, when the fibers are stretched and blended with chalk to create breathability through the otherwise waterproof material.

Let us guide you

You may think that an incontinence product is just that, but incontinence products are actually comprised of a complex composition involving many different layers and materials. Combined, they provide the best possible protection and comfort.
